A Life Remembered, A Legacy Cherished

With profound sorrow, the family of the late Mzee Humphreys Ouma Olojo, of Hasyule B Village, Lumino Sub-county, Busia District, mourns the passing of Mary Akumu Ouma, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend.

Mary passed away on 15th August 2026, leaving behind family, friends and loved ones who will remember her for the place she held in their lives and the memories created throughout her journey.

Her passing marks the end of an earthly chapter, but the love and memories she shared with those around her remain a lasting part of the lives she touched. During this difficult period, relatives, friends and well-wishers have been called upon to stand alongside the family as they come to terms with her loss and prepare to give her a dignified final farewell.

The Final Journey

The funeral arrangements will begin on Friday, 28th August 2026, with a Requiem Service at St. Paul Hasyule Church of Uganda at 10:00 AM. Following the service, the body will be conveyed to the ancestral home in Lumino Town Council, Busia District, where a vigil will be held.

The final farewell will take place on Saturday, 29th August 2026, when Mary will be laid to rest at the ancestral home in Lumino Town Council, with the burial programme commencing at 10:00 AM.

Family members, relatives and friends are expected to gather to honour her memory, offer comfort to the bereaved family and accompany her on her final journey.

A Lasting Memory

The loss of a loved one leaves a silence that cannot easily be filled. Yet, in the midst of grief, memories remain—a reminder of a life that was lived and relationships that mattered.
